Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, a Mexican American sportscaster. She is an ESPN anchor on news, and she hosts SportsNation often. She joined ESPN as a news anchor in 2016. She is the daughter of Maria Antonieta Collins, a journalist on television. Antonietta was bilingual from her age of nine. It is this skill which helped her obtain her first role as a Univision Production Assistant in Miami. In Miami, she collaborated with producers for national shows such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her next job was as an Sports Reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg Affiliate. In 2009, the reporter moved to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she worked for KNVO TV 48 Univision as and Fox2 News. In 2009, she relocated to Rio Grande Valley in Texas and became a journalist for KNVO 48 Univision and Fox2 News. She was also often asked to be an anchor for weather and sports. Deportes 23 is Univision Dallas' affiliate, where she takes on more responsibility. She created pieces for Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. Also, she produced Univision 23's local sports channel Accion Deportiva Extra, on where she was anchor. She was the anchor for sports on Despierta America Deportes morning show. The anchor also worked in the same role for Primer Impacto on UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo for its magazine show. Antonietta Collins' grandparents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually were moved to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. She's younger than her sister. She has an older sister. In 1992, the couple divorced and shortly afterward in 1995 she got married again Fabio Fajardo who was a naval engineer who passed away in 2006 due to kidney cancer. The time of summer when she was with her younger sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured a job. Antonietta was just graduating from high school, however she knew what she was going to accomplish. At the end of the day, she fell in love with the school. They also offered her a major. Following her graduation from her high school education, she chose to go to the university to pursue a degree in Media Studies. The relationship she formed was long-lasting with her instructor Mark Bergmann who was the supervisor of WRMU 91.1 FM, of which she was an affiliate. Her professor urged her to believe in herself and was deeply touched by his enthusiasm for journalism.
